Company History

The partners Robert Baxter and Blair Walker started investing together as business partners in 1984. In 2005, the partners formed the entity Olympus Capital for the purpose of establishing a partnership with the institutional investor Cargill, the largest privately held corporation in America. This partnership was set up for the sole purpose of funding land purchases and entitlement projects where they funded over 20 prime projects worth more than $150 million dollars.

In 2007, the market was changing drastically and land acquisition and entitlement projects no longer made financial sense. The partners had the foresight to see the inevitable crash of the market and held off for almost a year on funding additional projects. While other investment company’s lost fortunes, and banks were being taken over at an alarming rate, Olympus Capital carefully weathered the storm and positioned themselves to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime financial opportunity.
